I'm indulging in one of my favourite late-night activity.

That is, watching 法医X档案 on Channel 8. I think it may be because I'd been deprived of television for such a long time during my stay in hall that I'm making up for all the lost time by not sleeping. Which is really bad, but hey, it's my body I'm destroying.

My Christmases are so unhappening. And it's not by choice! If I had my way I would spend the 24th just partying away till dawn (not like I would have anybody to do that with, though). But it's actually really nice to spend a day with my family and relatives, and just forget about bidding, and CAPs, and all those irksome stress-causing factors. Instead, we can gorge ourselves, and exchange gifts (oh hell yeah, commercialization!). But really the nicest thing was just hanging out with the people you love.

I guess for non-Christians who don't believe/want to believe/care about the religious connotations/beginnings(?) of Christmas, it all boils down to the season of giving and being with loved ones. Which is partly why I usually don't go out with friends on Christmas. That and the fact that I hate crowds.

Dang it, the show just ended. I guess it's about time, because I'm about to doze off soon. 阳光列车's on now. Awesome how it was shown in 1995. Eh, not that awesome, it's really old. I have a primary school outing tomorrow! I'm really not sure how I feel about it. It's weird how some people I've not met for 6 years or so would be there. And I just stalked checked out some of them on FB. Talk about drastic changes. It's like two of the awkward geeky dudes suddenly turned out to be much better in the end. Really makes you think. About some stuff. I'm not sure what.

Time for snoozing. On an unrelated note, I like the FHM advertisements. The ones on pick-up lines and wrong things to do in an interview. Okay. Buh-bye.
Last christmas, I gave you my heart

Before this day ends, Merry Christmas. :D

I love you guys, although I'm in a rather emo mood now thinking about bidding. But life goes on and school can't bring me down.

Hope the remainder of 2009 goes well for you.

Love,
your favourite blogger of all time (yeah, I wish, shh, it's Christmas)

PS. Don't you just love cheesy Christmas songs? I'll miss them so much when they start blaring songs such as Cai Shen Dao. On Valentine's Day. But then it's another reason to be happy.

I just read an extremely dumb joke.

What is Bruce Lee's favourite drink?
Wataaaar!

Yes, the things I do to cheer myself (and you, if you're feeling down) up.

Okay, okay, one more! I know you're thirsting for more! Shh just play along.

What is the definition of a good farmer?
A man outstanding in his field!

And,

What did the fish say when he ran into a wall?
"Dam."

...And last but not least,

What do you call a bear with no teeth?
A Gummy bear!

Ahahahaha aren't they too funny? Yeah yeah, you try to come up with funnier ones then! Anyway, if you need to find some jokes to cheer yourself up, you can try this.

Time to sleep now! :D

DO NOT READ OR YOU'D BE DOOMED TO A LONG POST RANTING ABOUT GRADES AND HOW THE AUTHOR HAD CLUCKED UP HER SEMESTER AND HATES THE WORLD.

So I just checked my first semester results. Okay, by "just" I mean "a few hours ago but I was too lazy to blog about it immediately".

You know, I distinctly remember Mdm Leong saying that University is the fun time of our lives and once the A levels were over it would be stress-free and you could just relax and make friends. And then some other teachers also backed that idea of University being all chill and nothing compared to the A levels. I don't know if this is something confined within the spheres of local Universities (and thus the clucked up local mentality where grades and academics accounted for self-worth), because sure as hell life in NUS is not relaxing or stress-free or nothing compared to the A levels. I mean, being chill in person and slacking through the semester is one thing (I sure am that type of person), but truth is, University is every bit as study-oriented as being in a JC was, except now you get to experience crazily boring professors who wouldn't give a damn about you.

Uh. When you read my blog you'll tend to realise that (i) I use helluva lot of parentheses (which is horribly irritating, I can tell), (ii) I tend not to have a lateral train of thought. Yes, I know; how bloody irritating is that? Well, just so you know, the whole broken train of thought thing occurs because halfway through blogging my mind will always wander off and I'd start randomly visiting websites and waste up to a couple of hours doing nothing relatively constructive (mind you, I'm not saying that blogging is constructive). It's 1 in the morning now and the timestamp would probably say something like 11.45pm or so. Whatever. Oh, and anyway, regarding the irritating use of parentheses, I realised that I cannot help it, because I always have some thing or another to add into my sentences, and not using parentheses would make for bad grammar (one of my pet peeves, even though I commit it way too often to be qualified to have such a prejudice), or longer paragraphs, which would effectively kill off any reader interest this blog sustains (which is pathetic, I am certain).

Anyway, I'm not so much pissed off at my abysmal CAP than pissed off at myself for being so dumb. I mean, not getting good grades must indicate some sort of failure in me, mustn't it? I'm not even in a tough faculty like Engineering or Computing. In fact, I'm in the faculty which is nothing more than the congregation of bimbos (and himbos), and a small majority of smarter people who get into FASS for the laughs. So by not getting a good CAP I'm just proving to myself that I am stupid and good-for-nothing. And if I don't get a first-class honours degree I'm destined to fall behind in the rat race (cluck yeah we all know we're going to be in the rat race) and earn less money than people. I know, I know, life is more than getting a god pay, but sometimes I lose sight of that (and tonight I've completely lost sight of that. Because life is about the rat race and not losing out in terms of money and status, right? Nothing more than a bloodthirsty battle for survival and power in society) and in turn you're damned to read extremely pessimistic blog posts about how society is bleak and meaningless.

Maybe I should have applied to some third rate college in the states and partied myself senseless. Because that would take me onto the path towards failure too, but in ways completely more awesome (since I would be too wasted to think about being a failure). But noooo, now I'm stuck on the path towards becoming a failure without booze and parties. Sometimes I hate living here, because everyone takes academia so clucking seriously. Even me, the queen of not-caring-about-academia. It's like people have this mindset that only by studying can you achieve anything in life, but then the achievement is something so futile, like high pays and benefits, which I seriously don't give a damn about. All I want to do is to doodle all day and enjoy my life, and do all the things I love doing. But it's all about not having gratification, isn't it? We're supposed to work for the rest of our lives until we're grey and wrinkly, and then maybe we can enjoy retirement. But who the hell wants that? Who wants to wait for that long? Life is so short; why are we stuck doing the things we hate in our prime and left to pick at the pathetic debris when we're too senile to enjoy anything?

Why am I being such an emo prick?

Why are you still reading this?

Damn it I hate B+(s). It's like a grade which says, "Okay, so you got me. It means that you are clucked to a life of mediocrity, but it's okay, you're still in the running for a position in the rat race, just under the elites who made it to the top. You can go on to be their boot-licker and one day hope to rise above the millions of writhing B+ getters, but you probably wouldn't! Have fun in life! Or not! I don't care."

Maybe I should stop studying like I were smart or anything, because I sure as hell am not. I'm mediocre. MEDIOCRE!

Okay, self-berating time over. I'm probably not so depressed. Just fed up with how the system works. And how everything is so futile but everyone is caught up in the futility. Well, either that or it's a bad case of PMS (it actually is), and just a case of bad timing, what with the results and all that. And talking to Judy (who actually exacerbated my feelings of shittiness) online. But I'm sick of all the negativity.

So.

I read Xiaxue's blog entry on her love story. It's like something out of a movie (chick flick), but it is rather romantic. I mean it. It's like, what are the odds of a relationship blossoming out of that? And it cheered me up a little to think that maybe there's something more to life than the mindless pursuit of grades (and the working class equivalent of that: status/wealth). And it's not like there are no other means of getting wealth and status--I'd just have to marry a rich man (which means I'd first have to get a liposuction, LASIK surgery, eyebag-removal, brain transplant/lobotomy so that I'd learn how to effectively seduce rich men). Well, that's the second option if I don't get a first-class honours.

Probably I'd need to study a lot harder, and right now, liposuction sounds way more appealing to me.

But luckily I didn't get a C for literature, since they probably were less strict during the final exams (since my grade for literature was a B-, since I got B- for my 35% essay). I thank the heavens for that. And, well, having not studied for the religion module I guess I deserved that B+. And I probably could have done better for NM if I had studied harder (and not on the morning of the examination), so it's sort of a punishment for me that I didn't get better grades.

You see, I'm going through the three stages of getting bad grades. First it's anger, then it's false comfort, and finally it would be acceptance.

I shall now get over the fact that I sucked. Yep. Whatever. I don't really care about grades anyway. Thus I shall change all the "fuck"s to "cluck"s. Ctrl+f time! Done. Although technically I should have changed the last sentence to "Thus I shall change all the "cluck"s to "cluck"s."

-.-

There. End of rant. I shall sleep now and go on a complete shopping spree tomorrow. I don't care anymore! :D Retail therapy really helps, I think. It's nice to lose control and give in to your desires once in a (short) while. Oh, and I must thank Helvetica-lover for the awesome presents.

And I just realised that life probably isn't all that bad; I'm just being a drama queen. See, the third stage of getting bad grades: acceptance. Muacks!

XOXO

I haven't died, nor flown to Mars/Venus. And I'm not too busy with my "love life" to blog. Weird thing is, I didn't even realize how it's been close to two week since I last used the Internet. Time flies when you don't have stress, huh? While when you're in a butt-burning-ly boring lecture everything seems to stretch out twice as long.

You don't need to be an Einstein to figure out that time is relative.

Oh, and I haven't been on a cruise either.

The strange thing about me is that the Internet brings me comfort. It's like one of those comfort foods you eat when you are under copious amounts of stress (not sure if copious can be used in this context, whatever), for example, chicken macaroni (?), or, in my case, yummy home-cooked fried beehoon (among others). Anyways, the Internet's the friend whom I seek solace from when there's a scarcity of hope and joyfulness in the world, for example, the exam period, when nobody wants to go out, and nobody wants to give you the time of the day. Plus it gives me an excuse to spend some time doing other things besides studying (because you know I study so very hard, don't you?). Ah crap to tell you the truth I use the computer because I want to avoid studying (at all costs, until the very last minute when it dawns on me that I'm wasting a hell lot of time), and because I like slacking when I shouldn't be. I'm rebellious like that. And lazy. More lazy than rebellious, actually.

So now that I'm not in the least bit stressed out, I have no slack incentive/escapist drive to use the Internet.

But since I'm here, I shall give you a blow-by-blow account of what happened in the past almost-two weeks. Not exactly, but anyway. We had the customary birthday(s) celebration last Tuesday, where after an early dinner (shocking!) we sat in a semi-circle on Esplanade rooftop and had a ghost-story (Soke claimed that she would be too freaked out to sleep..?)/gossip (scarce)/random chit-chat session. And my white pants didn't turn black from the dirt on the ground. Then the rest of the week was a blur, with me going back to hall (to paint prop rocks with shiny grey paint. "Where got rocks so shiny one?") or slacking the day away playing Mariokart on Wii (whee!).

And this week I did a lot! I cut my hair (I got the hairdresser - a loosely used term, if I may add - who did Phua's banana-split© do, thus my hair looks exactly the same, with the exception of an abysmally short ponytail/small bun and an impossible-to-locate fringe), failed to donate blood due to low Fe count, ate shitloads of liver (ew) and kidney (double ew) and iron pills (may cause constipation, according to the packaging. Good to know), watched Zombieland with JY and Qbing (way too short, but good), put some leftover popcorn into my bag to bring home to my sister (aw, how sweet am I? Okay, not), donated blood and had dinner with Bananamuffinsoncertainredplanet and Shortie/Hottie (an awesome day, because I passed the Fe test!), and went on the bestest, most totally terrific cycling trip evarrrrrr! I may be exaggerating a little, but to me, any trip on a bicycle which doesn't involve me getting both emotionally and physically scarred deserves to be the bestest, most totally terrific cycling trip evarrrrrr! And it was really fun because I only fell once (a personal best, I think? I fell while trying to get onto the bike along Singapore river. That was when I lost my balance. And the bike chain/gear-thing came loose), didn't get injured, and got to hang out with the bunch of friends I love the most (minus a few overseas chums and not-in-same-clique-but-awesome people I love aww T_T). Although I still have a fear of cycling on and by roads (sheesh, gimme a break, I need time!), it felt really great to know that I don't totally fear riding bicycles at speeds higher than 1 kilometre per hour.

My butt and arms (no idea why) still ache and my forehead and nose are slightly sunburned (since I don't usually wear my fringe up, unless absolutely necessary, because I look like a country bumpkin when I do that) but it was worth it (and the $15 spent). No deadweight loss here (eh, a few days ago I was reading how when you receive a Christmas present which you deem to be worth less than the actual price it was bought for, there's a deadweight loss since you the value you give it isn't the value the present-buyer places on it and there's some sort of dissatisfaction in the process of gift-giving. You see, Economics in action! I'm actually rolling my eyes in my mind's eye, whatever that means). Plus, considering the near-third-degree sunburns I've had had in my years of existence, yesterday really wasn't Sebastian's biggest show yet. The worst was the Secondary 2 sports day, or the recent Hall orientation camp one.

And just so you know I'm right, from Wikipedia:
"Sebastian the crab (full name "Horatio Thelonious Ignatius Crustaceous Sebastian") is a Disney character who first appears in Disney's 1989 feature film The Little Mermaid."

He's so not a lobster.

That's Sebastian. He's asking, "Why do you think I'm a lobster?". See his bemused/amused expression?

Here's a lobster. It has a ginormous tail. It has claws and eight spindly legs. But it has a ginormous tail. (Ginormous is actually a word? It's recognized by Firefox spellcheck. Eh. I always thought it was a slang blending (EL FTW!) of "giant" and "enormous")

Here's a crab. It has claws, six spindly legs, 2 weird legs and no ginormous tail.

Does Sebastian have a ginormous tail? I think not! And there's Sebastian again, saying, "Told'ya I'm not a lobster! I'm a crab!".

So there.

I've finished reading Phua's library book. Which she says has some porno scenes in it. It doesn't! I've read books from the "Young adults" section of the library which have way more porno scenes in them than that. Not that I read books so that I could get some porno scene action (guh-ross), but since I always read fluff from that section it is inevitable that I come across some books with really blatant porno scenes.

Whoa this is turning out to be a reeeeaaaalllly long post, isn't it? But before I forget, my sister went to rebond her hair last Sunday, and I went with her [uh, because she says she hates traveling alone. I have no idea why, but both she and my aunt hate to do things alone. Shopping, taking the bus/MRT, eating - okay so that can be a little loser-ish, but when I do that I always act all nonchalant and sit there pretending to be one of those classy people who eat in solitude so that they can be alone with their deep, insightful thoughts, even if I'm eating popcorn chicken Snackers© at one of those KFC© outlets -, showering (kidding). I mean, there's nothing wrong with doing things alone! I find doing things alone exceptionally delightful on certain occasions (in snobbish British accent)! No, seriously, why?] and spent 4 bloody hours waiting for them (other aunt (not the hate-to-be-alone one), cousin, sister) to be done with the dyeing and rebonding. Halfway through the DS ran out of battery, so I had to stare into space for a really long while waiting for the chemicals to break the bonds in their (cousin and sister) hair so that their hair could achieve maximum pliability, straightness, and brittleness. Okay, so she looks better with straight-ish hair as compared to her wavy thick hair (which completely overwhelms her small-ish face and gives her the look of an unkempt hippie, shh, don't tell her I said that), and she doesn't ask me whether her hair is messy anymore. But now she occasionally asks me if the parting of her hair is correct. For Chrissake's do I look like I care? But don't tell her I said that, because she'd be so pissed. So now I just give her a non-committal shrug or nod when she asks me that.

I think I should have been born to be vainer and more narcissistic, then maybe she wouldn't bother me with her hair insecurities because she would be the opposite of narcissistic me and not give a shit about her hair. Maybe I should start asking her about my hair from now on. "Hey, does my hair make me look like a hobo/boy band lead singer from the 90s?", or "Hey, does this strand of hair look like it belongs to the fringe or to the back of my hair?".

Yeah, maybe not.

I'm overeating this holiday. Just a statement of truth.

I should sleep now. Need to conserve my energy for Christmas shopping and stuff like that. And I need to shop for clothes to wear to Mr. Soh's wedding! I love shopping. I used to hate shopping, because I was all gawky and tomboy-ish (I'm still gawky but now I'm not tomboy-ish because I realized that to qualify as a tomboy it would be best to be good at sports/sporty, which I so absolutely am not, so I gave in to societal conventions and started to behave like a girl. Meh), and had an image of not caring about what people think to uphold. I hated wearing skirts back then (still do, because I'd have to actually behave more demurely in a skirt, like closing my legs entirely when I sit down, apart from the other uncomfortable stuff), due mostly to the fact that skirts were the ultimate girly-girl type of clothing, which I rebelled against. I think my mother thought I was going to end up liking girls and going butch, even though I think there's nothing wrong with that, since hot girls are way hotter than hot guys (uh, I don't even know what that means). Point is, I like shopping, but I still don't like to wear skirts. And I am not gay, even though my mother feared that my rejection of girly clothes meant I would end up in a lesbian bar frenching hot girls, ala Katy Perry (lol). Okay, she didn't think that, but I was so sick of the prejudice she had for girls who didn't wear skirts that I resisted skirts even more. Oh, and when you have fat legs, a fat face and a boyish haircut you tended not to like acting like you were a pretty girl in a skirt. I guess the whole tomboy thing protected me from realizing how un-pretty I was compared to the rest of the skirt wearing population of girls.

Why I am blurting out my past insecurities here I have no idea. But I'm so glad that my overwhelmingly awkward tomboy childhood and my past bad hair (a few times I ended up having sideburns. I'm totally serious; I remember in Secondary two my mother brought me to the hair salon opposite my flat to get a haircut, and I ended up with shaved sideburns. How I got past such a horrifying adolescence I have no idea) did not turn me into a reclusive psychopath (although I do exhibit reclusive psychopath-like qualities sometimes, like the indifference to eating alone).

Oh, I broke my 4 year old glasses. T_T

I'm so sleepy. Although I've been sleeping a whole lot lately. I guess it's to pay up for the months of sleep debt I've accumulated while staying in hall. Not like I've been partying till late at night (I wish), but rather, I've been too caught up with using the Internet to avoid studying to actually get a good night's sleep. Ah well.

But I'm ending this post soon. If you've managed to read this entire post (and not cringe at the amount of grammatical/spelling errors in it; I know I would), kudos to you, my friend, for trudging through the crap. If you've endeavored (and failed) to finish this post, I thank you for your effort. If you haven't read past the first paragraph, uh, okay, good for you. But anyway, I've gotta go sleep soon. Need to pay up the sleep debt and get my body clock back on its tracks again.

If not I'll have a pimple outbreak (by that I mean like five on my cheek, or a big one above my upper lip (ew)). I'll probably be blogging more often now, until I leave for Taiwan, since I'd be spending the new year overseas (T_T) and wouldn't be able to do my annual thanks-giving countdown post.

Yeah that's it. I wonder how many words I've squandered here (and now you wouldn't doubt my abilities to crap out a B- essay in a night, would you?). Okay my dahlings! Air hugs and smooches! (In snobby British accent, of course)

Is it superfluous to thank every single person who wished you a happy birthday on Facebook? Whatever, it still gave me a kick. And there was a person whom I didn't even know, which was, eh, gratifying. I guess. Or not.

Anyway, thank you, those who wished me a happy birthday. For an event as anti-climactic as turning 19 (last teen year, yadayadayada), I must say it wasn't half as bad as I thought it would have been. Because I've got great people around me. :D

Sadly, the library only allows for the borrowing of 4 books! D: I thought it was a holiday thing! Meh.

Oh remember the ticket I was trying to sell? I sold it for $40! Who knew online transactions could be so lucrative, huh? And the dude was obviously in great need (want?) of the ticket, since he agreed to come down from AMK to Pasir Ris even though (he said) he lacked sleep. Never underestimate the drives of a party-goer. I felt kinda guilty though, because not only was I making money off a free ticket, I had made the buyer travel all the way across the island (well, almost) just for it. At least he had a chance to visit Pasir Ris lmao (he claims he hasn't been here for more than a year).

Ah well, at least the party will make him happy (and let him forget that he spent $40 and a long time on a bus just to purchase the ticket). And I'm happy too! Forty bucks yayayayayay! I'm way too broke to not feel elated.

So. I'm officially 19. Officially. Old. O_O

But, happily, I'm not the oldest. So I guess it's okay. Somehow. :D

Shall go ruminate (or sleep) now. See you guys tomorrow!
Happy birthday.

It's fast approaching the last year of my teenage life. And I'm not going to be eighteen any longer! Supposedly the best year of a girl's teenage life. I feel so old! I didn't even achieve anything much in my eighteenth year on Earth; I slacked the entire year away, almost.

Three more minutes! O_O

Bye.
you're lyin' in an empty bed

On a separate note, Hooray for LAST LAUNDRY DAY OF THE YEAR! :D

And I'm way too addicted to mycardboardlife. It's so bloody adorable! T_T
Did you fall for a shooting star?

I am so irritated by the fact that the hall's only giving us one measly cupboard to store our stuff. I'm also so pissed off by the fact that I would have to lug everything home. Times like this I wish I knew someone who would drive me any where on my beck and call. D:

Here's some photographic evidence of my hard time. I'm not even done with the squeezing yet, although how that space is supposed to hold my pillow and sleeping bag I do not know. Sigh.

Anyway, I'm still happy. Because December's the BEST MONTH OF THE YEAR! Am I right or AM I RIGHT?

Although I've stupidly went to sign up for a comm in which I'm supposed to build sets for the hall's productions. And they want us to start work on the 7th. And I was thinking no bloody way. So now I'm torn between making up an excuse to quit the comm and gritting my teeth to get the points.

The thing is, I'm not even sure if I'm staying on in hall in the second year. Sure, it's chill and I get all the freedom I want (which is, as you all know, totally different from when I stay at home, where I don't even have my own set of keys. O_O I know, right?), and I can pretty much get away with doing anything I want all day without anyone bossing me. But it gets old sometimes.

Anyway if I were to use an excuse, I'd probably say something like "my mother doesn't want me spending so much time in hall during the holidays. So I cannot disrespect her wishes", or "I twisted my ankle and broke my finger! I cannot work T_T sorry". I don't know. I don't even know the people in the comm. I know all about the "but you can make friends!" thing, but I don't think I want to be making any more of those small-talk acquaintances. Twenty is more than enough, I would think.

And they pretty much all have their own cliques (girls, I mean), and no way in hell am I going to hang out with the bunch of guys, because I don't want to! I need girl chummy time too. The thing is, in my other hall comm, Publications, I'm already in the sub-comm which consists of three or four other guys, and no girls (I didn't even bloody choose that sub-comm) besides myself. And we have to meet to print that fortnight's issue, so it's pretty much hanging out with guys, watching papers in print, and folding papers in half. I'm going to turn into a guy pretty soon, I'm sure, if this goes on any longer. Not that it's that bad being a guy, since I think I would be a pretty cool guy to hang out with.

As in, I'd probably hit on girls with confidence since I've come to the realization that girls are mostly boy-crazy and love getting attention (the right amount, that is) from guys. Of course it would greatly help if I were to become a hot guy.

Which brings me to the topic of Xumei and Ada's eye-candy. Who, in my opinion, isn't that good looking, but probably way better than average at the same time. So, anyway, back to my story.

We (SM, XM and I), as you all know, having read my previous post, went out yesterday. So we happened to be at BV station waiting for the train, when XM spots eye-candy (EC, we shall call him) in close proximity. So she beckons to us to move closer to EC. We complied, since we had nothing better to do while waiting anyway. Then we got onto the train, and ended up in the same carriage as EC. SM then began to speak really loudly about said EC (in a supposedly cryptic manner), and it was just really funny. XM was just being exceptionally 痴. EC was obviously irked by the noise we were making (at least, I would be, if I were him), as I noticed him looking over once or twice (well, obviously that or he was allured by XM's feminine charms).

Point is, XM is absolutely
痴! :D Yeah so am I, sometimes, but at least I've spoken to my eye-candy before (although it was totally insignificant, during some religious history group discussion, where I established the fact that I was more of an agnostic than an atheist lolwtf). So there!

And now I shall conclude my totally girlish monologue. Damn those hormones!

I'm going to turn nineteen soon. O_O Oh no I feel so old. It's the last year of being a teen. I don't want it to end, really.

Depressing, isn't it?

Anyways! Google Street view! Although it's sad how I missed the Google vans or bicycles or whatever they use to take the pictures. But still, way too cool, no? Takes voyeurism to a whole new level. There's this thing I found on the Internet where this person said he wore a pikachu suit when he saw the Google street guys coming along his street, so when someone searched for the street they would see the person in a pikachu suit. Not in Singapore though. D:

Ah heck it I'm giving up on the packing for now.

Bye!
it won't hurt anymore
Wednesday, December 2 16:59

My exams ended yesterday. But I had nothing to do, so I lugged home some of my clothes and all of the study material (including all my textbooks). It was anti-climactic. Now that both Yingyu and my sister have dissuaded me from watching Paranormal Activity (Sister: "Not scary one lah. Only the last part quite scary."), I am down to two or three movies that I wish to watch. One's Fantastic Mr. Fox, then Zombieland (Zombies! We all love Zombies!), and Coraline (I'm not even sure if that has already been screened and already ended..).

And I'm setting out to finish Pride And Prejudice and Zombies, which I never did got around to reading. Harry Potter series too, if I have the time/energy/attention span. Oh plus if I happen to find Twilight or its sequels in the library - highly unlikely -, I'm prepared to read through it again, just so I know whether my assessment of it had been influenced by the anti-Twilight population of the world. And the cost of sending anything overseas is exorbitant. D: It's the holidays! It's almost Christmas! I can go shopping, at last! It's the superlative, exclamation point-y time of the year! Whoopie!

Anyway, reading the review on the New Moon movie was probably made my morning. The reviewer was so mean it hurt, and it probably had something to do with him being a guy and all that, but it was still funny. Then in the MRT station this Indian dude came to ask me which train went to Boon Lay. Since it was Pasir Ris, I told him both went to BL. I had to repeat my point three times, each time with varying degrees of grammar usage, for the message to get through.

1st: "Both trains go to Boon Lay."
2nd: "These two trains go there."
3rd: "This *point to first train* and this *point to other train* go to Boon Lay. The two. Same."

And then he was like, "mumblemumble Singapore?", to which I replied politely, "Huh?" (okay, not politely, ehehe). He repeated himself, and I heard "Is this country Singapore?", so I was like, "Yes *nods head*". To which he replied "I'm from Bangladesh."

After that I didn't know what to say, so I just smiled and then stared at the ground. It was surreal, I tell you.

I don't like talking to strangers.

Guess what? I'm whiling away my time (waiting for Xumei and Soke's exams to be over) reading people's comments on Stephen King's insults of Stephenie(?) Meyer's writing. I know, I'm so obsessed with the whole "I LOVE TWILIGHT!!!!!!!!11!!11!" thing. I guess I can never get over the fact that people actually say Meyer's a great writer and her books are innocent (because they contain no sex). It is so glaringly obvious that she's got some trouble with characterization and that her writing contains connotations of sex/anticipation of sex. I found this comment, "Mormon housewife's wet dream", quite funny.

Meh I don't want to pack! I'm so incredibly lazy. I want to go out and waste away my youth!

Bah I have nothing to blog about. Live has been so bland and inane recently that I'm about to go crazy if nothing exciting happens soon. Maybe I just need my long-postponed retail therapy and a chill out/hang out session with somebody. And a haircut/trim.

Bye.

PS STILL CANNOT WAIT FOR CHRISTMAS, THOUGH!
