Oh anyway remember how I was bragging about my essay crapping skills on Facebook? Okay actually I was giving a blow-by-blow account of my essay progress. Anyway I completed it in a few hours, which is a feat even for my standards, since it was due à cinq heures le(?) Mercredi and I only started à midi. Yeah I know right, how awesome am I? And today the prof was telling me the essay was "excellent", but you know how these things turn out - I'd probably get a B+ if I'm lucky.
Anyway, my point is, things usually don't turn out to be that bad. But this is just a defense mechanism because I think I'm this close to cracking. I have two essays due soon, a French oral test (JE NE SAIS PAS! JE NE COMPRENDE PAS. JE NE PARLE PAS LE FRANÇAIS!), whinge whinge whine. I guess my other ideology for life (the first being, of course, the ideology of slacking; aka Slackology), the whole idea of being chill, because nothing ever turns out quite as badly as you imagine it to be.
But years of evidence hasn't taken away my pessimistic outlook when the going gets tough. Instead, I psych myself out by telling myself that everything that can go wrong will go wrong - What if my internet crashes? What if I miss the deadline and get penalised? What if the module verification error is permanent and I get kicked out of NUS? (True story, I've already sent two emails to the administration person to get the crap sorted out. I can't believe the same error occurred twice, two days in a row. It's either I'm stupid and got the procedure wrong- I'm betting on that -, Chrome doesn't support whatever NUS is doing, or pure bad luck) What if a satellite crashes on to Earth and solar flares wipe out all electronic and communications services/devices and the entire human race is wiped out because we are so over-dependent on electricity and modern conveniences? What if that sentence actually made sense?
Yeah, then sometimes, when I cross the road in front of a bus I think what it'd be like to just get run over and die so that I won't have to fret over anything anymore. But I'm not suicidal or anything, I think it's because I recently downloaded "There's a light that never goes out" by The Smiths from Youtube, which is an absolutely morbid song. I don't even like it that much. But since my iPod's on shuffle and I'm sick of most of my songs, well.
Alors, il est minuit et demi. Sorry for the smattering of French (pseudo-French) around, I need the practice because my French sucks ass. Pardon my French. Haha, I'm so humorous, no? Crap there's choir tomorrow and a few hours ago I felt a slight itch in the back of my throat. Another stress factor is choir. I mean I'd be happy just singing and singing. And singing. But nooooo we have to buy shoes, and gowns, and I'm not all that rich right now. And too bad choir isn't Glee club, because, I don't know, I like watching Glee. SEASON 2! Not that I've watched the most recent episode. I gave up after finishing Audition(s?) (the first episode) because I took two hours to finish the 45-minute episode. Damn my internet connection and the screwey proxy-masking thing I use.
I'm having the beginnings of a headache. Maybe I'll be sick tomorrow and not go for choir practice harhar. So,

I've got my bolster, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, my panda waterbottle (I typed "My panda waterbottle". Narcissistic tendencies?), some of my literature texts, a journal, some files and the Sn1101E Coursepack. Oh, and three mini butterfly clips, a pen, a hairbrush and an Edward Monkton coin pouch thing.
Looks like I'm set. With my bottle (bouteille d'eau) I can ensure that I have a vessel for liquids, which is vital for survival. And of course the bottle would serve as a blunt weapon of sorts. And it'd be nice to have pandas to look at when the desolate environment (human remains, stinking flesh, empty buildings) gets too depressing for me. GOF would also be a handy weapon. I mean, sheesh, it's freaking thick and kinda heavy for a book. And if that's not enough I could throw my literature texts, shuriken style so that I'd have a long-d weapon to give me some time to run away. And the brush and clips? For looking fabulous while on the run from the army of the undead, of course. It's an apocalypse but no one said you should let yourself go. The pen could be used to stab those zombies who (which?) get too close (DIE ZOMBIES *STAB STAB STAB*).
And my secret weapon would be the coursepack, hands down. Besides having tonnes of useful information about South-Asia (because who knows, India, or Tibet could be the only safe haven on Earth in the zombie apocalypse. Depends on whether Hinduism or Buddhism would triumph over the hungry zombies), it's thick as hell and twice as heavy as GOF. A lifesaver, fo' shizzle.
Yeah, so I cheated a little, these objects are so not "the object" to my left, but hey, if it's the zombie apocalypse I need to be prepared! I'm sure I'm a tasty, fleshy morsel to the undead so I need all the weapons I can get. Oh, and I forgot about my bolster. It'd make a good human substitute when no one is around. Humans need hugs, like zombies need brains.
Dang I'm sure to get a zombie nightmare tonight. I had one quite recently, and despite the fact that zombies move really slowly, there's just something seriously scary about their rotting parts and undead-ness. Vampires, on the other hand, have had their scariness dissolved by the likes of the Twilight saga (saga? More like sago in terms of mushiness
Maybe zombies wouldn't be so frightening if Stephenie Meyer tried writing a zombie love story-cum-sparkle fest. The reason why zombies are slow? They are weighed down by all the suppressed emotion for Bella and can only crawl through life because they don't have the enrichment from human love. And of course there would be an inter-species love triangle, like, zombie vs merman, or the pontianak.
I'm really sleepy now. Il est une heure dix-sept. Gosh. I've really got to sleep now. J'adore dormir! Bonne nuit! Sorry for the typos.

Well, sleep beckons. Really.

Okay bored of this blog post already. Maybe it's because I have effin' wake up at 6 tomorrow. Bloody 8 am lessons. I promise I'd blog tomorrow! It's not like I'm entirely depressed. Just slightly. And only for a while, because I realise I'm in an awful mess what with all the upcoming midterms, deadlines, choir performances and whatnot. And I'm really hungry and I don't feel like sleeping. You know how sometimes you don't want tomorrow to come so you sleep late trying to feel as though tomorrow will never come? Yeah, doesn't work much, but that doesn't stop me from trying.
Sigh.
I so don't want to study anymore. I find myself going nowhere, and I still have two and a half more years to go. Personally, I don't think university's all that it's cracked up to be. It costs so much and I'm not learning more than I did in JC/Secondary school.
Ah fuck I shall sleep now. Good night. Or not.

Trivial matters aside, I'm reading the papers on Bhakti and Caste for a presentation (which, incidentally, I haven't quite started working on) tomorrow. And yes, it is for SN1101E. And this here's for all you people who thought English poems were pesky and esoteric:
...
I'm living in a poisoned forest,
encircled by snakes.
Fear thus grasps my soul,
all night awake.
You won't be overlooked, fish:
the fisherman is death.
Though you go round to all the ponds,
in each he's set his net.
To a doll of five element
a man's name they give;
It stays for four days
but needs such space to live!
...
I could go on with the other verses, but then I've really got to stop procrastinating already. Okay, au revoir! Readings beckon.

Obviously, because it's an adaptation of Conrad's Heart of Darkness. But it's made worse since, well, books are way less visual than films, and this one happens to be chock-full of motifs of death and darkness.
I wanted to write/type a longer post, about something I read on the internet, but it's 1 in the morning now and I've got a bitch of an 8 am tutorial tomorrow, which means waking up at 6.
Okay this was an insignificant post. Goodbye! Bonne nuit!
